If I came to London

If I came to London

Would you see me?

If I travelled down those stuffy lanes

and tube stations with people and

long trains

Would you be standing there on the

platform, waiting for me while it

rains?

If I came to London

Would you take me to the places you

love and grew, those places between who you

are and who you knew

Would you let me all the way in,

away from your peers, fears and all things

untrue?

If I came to London

Would you take my hand and lead the

way?

If I let go and smiled and nodded and

said yes,

Would you take my heart and play

with it and tell me it won’t be

in jest?

If I came to London

Would you be able to see me today,

tomorrow or the rest?

I’ll be at The Book Club where I

think we may have last met.

I miss you and your eyes and hope to

see you again before the many faces of lies,

in the crowds,

in the shadows,

in the room,

under the dark lights,

as our lips meet in our minds,

and the sun sets on our sighs.
